We're helping one of our clients hire an Infrastructure Engineer. This position will be hybrid in Downtown Chicago. This client was one of the first to offer commission-free trading on stocks and options, which was a game-changer when it launched. This innovative approach helped make trading more accessible and affordable for individual investors, removing the barrier of high fees. The platform was eventually acquired by a larger financial service provider, expanding its offerings even further.They're currently looking for someone eager to learn and assist with networking, infrastructure, security, and systems administration in a hands-on role. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with senior management, helping to manage virtual machines, hypervisors, and network protocols in a small, dynamic team. The role involves monitoring systems, troubleshooting, and assisting with the expansion of 24/7 monitoring tools like Zabbix and Nagios. Experience with Windows Server, firewalls (SonicWall), and routing protocols (BGP) is preferred.Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience with network management, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Experience with firewall management (SonicWall).
• Familiarity with BGP routing protocols and networking basics.
• Experience managing virtual machines and hypervisors.
• Experience with Windows Server 2022 and Windows desktop environments.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems (CentOS 7/8, Ubuntu) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy Management.
• Experience with Zabbix for monitoring systems.
• Familiarity with Grafana for data visualization and charting.
• Ability to help expand monitoring systems to 24/7 operations.
• Basic understanding of network security and software used for monitoring and logging.
• Experience with traffic management and configuring software related to security.
• Minimal experience with cloud technologies (e.g., Azure).
• VMware vSphere experience is a plus.
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment and collaborating with senior management.
• Ability to assist with technical projects and contribute to system improvements.Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years working in a professional setting.
  • Enthusiastic about programming and exploring new technologies.
