Title: School MonitorLocation: CICS Prairie- 11530 S Prairie Ave,
Chicago, IL 60628Reports To: School PrincipalSalary: starting at
$42,029, commensurate with experienceType: Regular Full TimeStart

leaders.Overview:The School Monitor will ensure a safe experience
for all students by supervising school grounds and students during
instructional, non-instructional, before, and after school
activities. They will provide assistance to teachers and students
in relation to the overall safety of the school. A School Monitor
is responsible for maintaining the safety of all students on
campus. Working hours may vary depending on campus
need.Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in the halls, gathering rooms and school
grounds, monitoring noise level and student behavior, and ensuring
a safe and inclusive environment
- Support students in the development of their social emotional
awareness during free play time assisting students with conflict
resolution
- Assist with enforcing COVID 19 campus protocol
- Practice verbal de-escalation and restorative intervention
techniques
- Serve as a positive mentor for students across all grades
- Complete incident reports/referrals in a clear and concise
manner, referring students to the appropriate personnel should
disciplinary action be deemed necessary
- Follow and enforce all campus safety protocols, school
policies, and code of conduct
- Assist staff regarding student control problems
- Operate a two-way radio to communicate with school leadership
and staff
- Collaborate with Dean of Students to perform any other duties
assigned
- Uphold all Distinctive Schools professional responsibilities
consistent with the mission and working agreements of Distinctive
Schools
- Assist with arrival and dismissalRequirements:Education: High
School Diploma or equivalentQualifications:
- Must have experience working with children in education or
volunteer setting
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and hit numerous deadlines
simultaneously
- Technology demands:
- Ability to learn digital tools and programs as needed for the
position
- Ability to work set schedule based (before, during, or after
school)Physical demands: Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing,
and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching. Generally, the
job requires 5% sitting, 15% walking, and 80% standing (ability to
work on your feet for 4-6 hours daily)Benefits:
