Job Description Summary
The Office of Community Engagement and Experiential Learning (CEEL)
offers transformational student learning opportunities through
building connections with on and off-campus partners who
collaborate in mutually beneficial ways. As part of CEEL's work,
the Lewis University Community Schools Consortium (LUCSC) works to
increase wellbeing and educational success for PreK-12 schools,
students, and families through a collaborative network of public
schools, community agencies, and Lewis programs working together to
implement the 'community school' strategy.The Graduate Assistant
(GA) position will support this work through activities such as
program implementation, data collection and analysis, marketing,
communication, promotion of student leadership, and more.

Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job
performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful
collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and
Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Participate in the CEEL team, including attendance at
team/department meetings and/or meetings with off-campus partners
(i.e., LUCSC partner schools, community organizations,
etc.);-Support student leadership and employment opportunities,
including recruitment, selection, onboarding, and ongoing support
of Lewis student teammates. This includes, for example,
coaching/mentoring Lewis students who are engaging with local P-12
students or other community partner agencies;-Partner with on and
off-campus colleagues to collect and maintain necessary data and
documentation for activities and reporting. This includes, for
example, through the platform, for federally required grant
reports, and other data collection processes;-Collaborate with
colleagues to produce promotional materials (i.e., annual report,
flyers, brochures, etc.) for the campus and public;-Support the
digital presence and communication of CEEL, including website(s),
social media engagement, and program newsletters;-Assist in
planning activities and events related to the work of the CEEL
team, including preparation prior to event(s) and participation
during event(s). Such events may include, for example:
collaborative partnership meetings among community and campus
representatives, presentations on and off campus, student
activities, and more;-Provide administrative support to CEEL
teammates, which may include budget assistance, meeting scheduling,
or other tasks.-Maintain a regular, though flexible, schedule to
allow for participation in campus meetings and events, and to
engage with students and colleagues both on and off campus
Additional Responsibilities
-Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by
Leadership and/or designee(s).-Develop and/ or foster relationships
with community partners, as appropriate;- Serve as a role model for
all students and faculty/staff by communicating effectively,
treating teammates with respect, and completing work
effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree required; Must be enrolled in a graduate program
(and actively taking at least one graduate-level course) at Lewis
University by employment start date.-Strong written and verbal
communication skills; this includes the ability to communicate in a
timely and professional manner.-Have consistently accessible
transportation to commute between Lewis campus and
schools/community partner organizations (generally within Will
County).-Strong organizational and time management skills.-Ability
to work independently and be self-motivated, while also engaging in
an inclusive, team-oriented environment.-Ability to pass a
background check process by public schools and/or community
organizations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Willingness to be technologically flexible, using tools such as:
Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Forms, etc.), Microsoft Suite (Teams,
Office, PowerPoint, etc.), design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign,
Canva, etc.), and more; this also includes understanding social
media platforms;Experience using Python, Jupyter Notebooks, or
other coding platforms is a plus;Experience related to restorative
community engaged services within an educational setting

This position will be at Lewis University's Romeoville campus;
on-campus presence is required, though some work may be completed
remotely
